Lady Scots Finish First in McKinney
The Highland Park girls picked up their fourth team title in five races at the Bronco Stampede cross country meet on Saturday at Myers Park in McKinney.
Charlotte Hudson finished third individually to pace the Lady Scots, completing the 5-kilometer course in 18 minutes, 54 seconds. Sara Cavey was 11 seconds behind in fifth place.
The race gave HP a sneak preview of the course layout for the District 13-5A meet, which will be held at the same site on Oct. 14.
Meanwhile, the HP boys came in 10th place in the team standings at the Cedar Park Invitational on Saturday. Jeffrey Tubbs-Jimenez was the top runner for the Scots, crossing the line in 35th position.
Both HP squads will next compete at the Frisco ISD Invitational on Sept. 18.
