North Texas Giving Day 2021: WiNGS

Editor’s Note: As part of our coverage of North Texas Giving Day this year, we’ve invited nonprofits to pitch themselves to our readers.

WiNGS empowers women, fights poverty and impacts generations. The organization believes that empowering women to achieve their fullest potential has a multiplier effect on the families and communities around them.

WiNGS is a 113-year-old organization that serves as a bridge for women to arrive at a place of success and sustainability, from wherever they are starting from today. WiNGS supports women in the midst of change – first-time pregnancies, economic and financial crises, or starting a new chapter – by providing the lift needed to carry them successfully into the next phase of their lives. The services at WiNGS empower women to become self-sufficient and take ownership over their path to success. WiNGS staff, coaches, nurses and volunteers take a customized approach to tailor resources, action plans and one-on-one mentorship to each client’s specific goal and build resiliency to prepare for the future.

WiNGS’ key differentiation is in one-on-one, personalized support offered to each client. The incredible team of coaches, mentors, and nurse home visitors walk alongside clients to chart an actionable path toward financial and personal resiliency, serving as an accountability partner along the way. In the Nurse-Family Partnership program, nurses follow moms for 2.5 years, from pregnancy through the child’s 2nd birthday, to ensure they and their babies are healthy and receive the resources they need. The financial coaches and advisors in Economic Advancement programs remain committed to clients until they are on their feet and throughout subsequent challenges and changes.

Your generosity will help local women broaden their sense of what is possible, targeting financial stability and independence to empower women to take control of their lives.
