North Texas Giving Day 2021: Thanks-Giving Square

Editor’s Note: As part of our coverage of North Texas Giving Day this year, we’ve invited nonprofits to pitch themselves to our readers.

Dallas needs healing. Hatred and discord run rampant across individuals and groups in our community divided by race, economic status, gender, political beliefs, religion and more. Not only does this divisiveness lead to violence, it also hinders our city from solving pressing issues such as poverty, hunger, education and social disparity.

Thanks-Giving Square is positioning our city on the path to higher ground. Through its transformative space and bridge-building initiatives, Thanks-Giving Square aims to transform the city at both an individual and community-wide level, bringing people together to choose love over hate, practice gratitude daily and involve the broader community to solve the problems we cannot solve alone.

In addition to the beautiful, architecturally renowned physical space in the heart of downtown Dallas, Thanks-Giving Square is a charitable organization serving as an active force for inspiration, education and connection through its transformative programs and initiatives. Alongside meaningful events, convenings and engagements that foster widescale connections among the community, Thanks-Giving Square targets several of the most divided areas that hold Dallas back from truly becoming the City of Thanks-Giving, including efforts that address race relations, faith diversity, police relations, LGBTQ+ acceptance and more.
