North Texas Giving Day 2021: Dallas Education Foundation
Editor’s Note: As part of our coverage of North Texas Giving Day this year, we’ve invited nonprofits to pitch themselves to our readers.
The Dallas Education Foundation inspires community investment to accelerate the success of our Dallas ISD students. Our vision is a galvanized community whose resources support the transformative work that makes the District the preferred choice for families across North Texas.
We believe in the Future of Dallas, and we ask you to join us as we invest in our students, teachers and schools to create greater opportunities for every child in Dallas ISD.
The primary beneficiary of our philanthropy is the Dallas Independent School District, the 16th-largest public school district in the nation and the second-largest in Texas, serving over 150,000 preK-12th grade students in 240 schools across 384 square miles.
With 86% of its students qualifying for free or reduced lunch, the District has infinite needs in and beyond the classroom. Despite these challenges, Dallas ISD continues to make significant gains and is, per the Council of Great City Schools, one of the fastest improving public school districts in the country.
