Late Comeback Propels Jesuit Past Scots

A remarkable second-half rally enabled Jesuit to split its season series with Highland Park on Friday at Highlander Stadium, in a battle of lacrosse rivals with state-title aspirations.

The Rangers trailed midway though the third quarter before a string of seven unanswered goals keyed a 12-7 win in a physical battle. Curran Rose scored four goals, while Cameron Martin added three for Jesuit.

The Scots (11-2) saw their 11-game winning streak snapped despite taking control with a five-goal flurry during a span of less than four minutes in the first quarter. It was HP’s first loss against a team from Texas this season.

The Rangers (8-2) were able to avenge an 11-9 loss to the Scots last month. They will carry a five-game winning streak into their regular-season finale at defending state champion ESD on April 24.

HP will travel to face St. Mark’s in its final regular-season game on April 22. The playoffs begin next week, with the Texas High School Lacrosse League state tournament slated for May 8-9.
