ATP Cancels Dallas Challenger Tournament
The 2021 edition of the Tennis Championships of Dallas, which is held annually in early February at TBarM Racquet Club, has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tournament organizers hope the men’s professional event, which is held indoors, will return to the ATP Challenger Tour calendar next winter.
The tournament won’t be played for the first time in its 22-year history. It has gained popularity in recent years among fans and players alike, with recent editions attracting participants such as Kei Nishikori, John Isner, Nick Kyrgios, and Frances Tiafoe.
The event also has been an integral supporter of Susan G. Komen Dallas County, the charitable arm of the Dallas Tennis Association, and the Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation.
