Preston Hollow Crime Reports Dec 16 – 22

SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: HOLIDAY SALE?
Before 1:07 p.m. Dec. 19, a crook went shopping in an unlocked vehicle in the 8500 block of Ridgelea Street.

16 Monday
Ridiculously early start or super late night? Arrested at 6:46 a.m.: a 27-year-old man accused of driving under the influence in the 8000 block of Lemmon Avenue.

Police did not provide the reporting time for a theft from a home in the 5700 block of West Amherst Avenue.

At 8:27 a.m., University Park police recovered a stolen vehicle at Preston Center.

Stolen before 7:42 p.m.: credit cards from two women, ages 21 and 49, at Preston Forest Shopping Center.

Arrested at 7:56 p.m. at the scene of a wreck in the 4300 block of West Northwest Highway: a 63-year-old man accused of driving under the influence.

Before 8:18 p.m., a porch pirate pinched packages from a home in the 5700 block of Southwestern Boulevard.

Reported at 9:35 p.m.: an impostor used the personal information of a 45-year-old man from the 6800 block of Churchill Way to open an account and steal money.

Taken before 10:47 p.m.: a vehicle from NorthPark Center.

17 Tuesday
Recovered at 3:49 a.m. in the 12900 block of Preston Road: a vehicle stolen out of Tarrant County.

Police did not provide the reporting time for a theft from a home in the 6200 block of Azalea Lane.

Before 4:09 p.m., a thief stole from the bed of a pickup truck at a residential construction site in the 4500 block of Harrys Lane.

A shoplifter wanted jeans and stole them before 4:44 p.m. from the Gap in Inwood Village.

Before 5:34 p.m., an unskilled crook punched out the lock of a Mesquite woman’s pickup at NorthPark Center but was unable to take the vehicle.

Arrested at 8:19 p.m. at NorthPark Center: a 31-year-old woman accused of trying to sneak out of Macy’s with concealed merchandise. She also had an outstanding warrant.

18 Wednesday
Police did not provide the reporting time of a theft at a home in the 6900 block of Meadow Road.

Taken before 12:59 p.m.: a vehicle from the Winston School on Royal Lane.

Arrested at 7:51 p.m. at NorthPark Center: a 31-year-old man accused of trying to sneak out of Macy’s with concealed merchandise. He also had an outstanding warrant.

19 Thursday
Before 5:52 p.m., a burglar broke a window to take property from a vehicle at the Preston Forest Shopping Center.

Taken before 7:38 p.m.: a vehicle from NorthPark Center.

20 Friday
No lattes for you! Before 7:55 a.m., an unwelcome visitor received a criminal trespassing warning at the Starbucks in Preston Forest Square.

Police did not provide the reporting time for thefts at apartments in the 8500 block of Preston Road and a home in the 6800 block of Churchill Way.

Stolen before 9:46 a.m. in the 6300 block of LBJ Freeway: a Princeton, Texas, man’s property.

Before 11:26 a.m., a burglar broke into a vehicle at Preston Royal Village and found cash.

Arrested at 1:45 p.m.: a 44-year-old man accused of public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to identify himself in the 5100 block of Harvest Hill Road. He also had four warrants out of Dallas.

A taxing situation: Before 3:40 p.m., a thief snatched the license plate off a vehicle at the Dallas County Tax Office at Hillcrest Avenue and LBJ Freeway.

That wasn’t very fraternal. Before 3:46 p.m., a burglar smashed the window of a Waco man’s vehicle at Dallas Lodge No. 760 in the 5300 block of Forest Lane.

Before 5:49 p.m., a burglar broke into a Duncanville man’s vehicle at Preston Hollow United Methodist on Walnut Hill Lane.

Arrested at 6:36 p.m.: a 31-year-old man accused of public intoxication at Medical City Hospital on Forest Lane.

Before 7:20 p.m., a shoplifter grabbed clothing off the racks at Saint Bernard in Inwood Village and ran away.

Who removed the contents of five vehicles parked at apartments in the 3800 block of Northwest Highway before 9:16 p.m.? We don’t know.

21 Saturday
Before 8:39 a.m., a burglar took property from a home in the 7900 block of Northaven Road.

Before 9:47 a.m., a burglar smashed the window of an Addison woman’s car at Edgemere at Thackery Street and Northwest Highway.

22 Sunday
Police did not provide the reporting time for vandalism  at a home in the 6300 block of Del Norte Lane.

Struck before 4:12 p.m.: a Plano man’s unattended vehicle in the parking lot at Texas Dizziness Centers at Preston Road and Linden Lane. The culprit motorist didn’t stick around to take credit.
