Local Recognized for Business Achievements
Trey Rome, founder and CEO of Home Tax Solutions (HTS) and Preston Hollow resident, was recently honored with awards from two high-profile business publications, US Business News and Wealth & Finance Magazine.
US Business News named Home Tax Solutions as “Best Property Tax Lender 2019 in Texas,” and Wealth & Finance Magazine designated HTS with the 2018 “Money Management Award.”
After several years as a V.P. at Amegy Bank in the private equity acquisition finance group, Rome decided to follow his entrepreneurial itch and start a company where he knew he could improve an industry, help people, and make money while doing it. Seven years ago, HTS was founded on his kitchen table.
“We are a company founded with a strong business model and a philosophy of caring about all the people with whom we work, a philosophy I learned from one of my professors while at SMU,” he said.
HTS offers homeowners property tax payment plans tailored to each client. The company also has 23 Associates, 90% female staff with all team leaders being women, and has high employee retention.
Additionally, based on public data provided by the Office of Consumer Credit Commission, HTS was listed in its publication, Texas Credit Letter, as the largest property tax loan originator in Texas in 2018.
Rome is a graduate of the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University (2004-2008) where he was an active member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
He also graduated from the Private Wealth Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s The Wharton School in 2013.
Rome is a supporter of SMU, a member of the Think Ahead Group (TAG) supporting research at the Center for BrainHealth at the University of Texas, and served in the mentor program of O.M. Roberts Elementary.
He and his wife, Jenna, live in Preston Hollow with their almost two-year-old son and another on the way.
