Whataburger Named National Sponsor For The Birthday Party Project

The Birthday Party Project, a Dallas-based nonprofit that throws birthday parties for children living in homeless shelters and transitional living facilities across the country, has announced that Whataburger will be its latest national sponsor.

The San Antonio-based hamburger chain has given $10,000, plus a $25,000 in-kind food donation, to the nonprofit started by Preston Hollow resident Paige Chenault for its 2019 parties.

“Partnering with Whataburger, a company so deeply-rooted in their Texas community is a shining moment for The Birthday Party Project!” Chenault said. “The way their family-owned and operated business cares for their customers is one of the many reasons we are excited to partner with them to show that same care with the families we serve.” She adds, “With their partnership, we will be able to give the families we serve something that many of us can take for granted: a delicious, fresh meal that brings everyone to the table. We are grateful for their generosity and look forward to bringing more JOYful moments to families across Texas.”

“Everyone should feel special on their birthday, especially children who’ve gone through more than any child ever should,” said Pam Cox, Whataburger vice president, customer engagement and brand communication. “The Birthday Party Project makes this possible, and we’re proud to support them as they bring birthday magic to children experiencing homelessness across Texas.”

Together, The Birthday Party Project and Whataburger will celebrate children of all ages across the state with themed parties, treats, games, and gifts.
