Alec Philip Ostolaza Dewar
Alec Philip Ostolaza Dewar is the son of Mr. Peter B. Dewar and Ms. Yvette Ostolaza. He is the grandson of Mr. Oscar and Ms. Carmen Ostolaza of Miami, Florida and Mr. Norman and Ms. Monika Dewar of Ft. Worth. His brother Aidan, a 2018 DSO Honor Guard Escort, graduated from Harvard and works in Dallas at Bain Consulting. His sister Elena Isabel is a sophomore at The Hockaday School.
Alec graduated from St. Mark’s School of Texas in 2018 as an AP Scholar with Distinction. He was founder and president of St. Mark’s Pre-Law Society, news editors of the ReMarker and on the Editorial Board. Alec won the Dallas Morning News High School Journalism Competition for best Page Design Portfolio.
He played on the Lions varsity baseball team, received Bronze and Gold Presidential Community Service Awards each year from 2014 to 2018, served as vice-president of Dalrich Young Men’s Service League and earned his Eagle Scout rank as a sophomore.
Alec attends Georgetown University majoring in government and Spanish. He is a news writer for The Hoya, plays intramural basketball and is a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He enjoys snow skiing, basketball and traveling.
