SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: CAN’T START THIS

A Larret Energy Services Inc. worker had to be upset around 8:23 a.m. March 19 when he went to start equipment at a construction site in the 9300 block of Mixon Drive only to discover the wires had been cut.

18 Monday
Reported at 3:06 p.m.: a crook brandished a gun while robbing a construction site in the 5800 block of Walnut Hill Lane.

Reported at 7:24 p.m.: A vehicle was broken into at NorthPark Center.

It was apparently a bad day to be parked in the 3800 block of Northwest Highway, where the windows of three vehicles were broken so burglars could take property. The cases were reported the following day at 7:20 a.m., 8:23 a.m., and 4:41 p.m.

19 Tuesday
Sometime after midnight: Property was stolen in the 5800 block of Berkshire Lane.

Reported at 12:15 p.m.: A vehicle parked in the 9100 block of Central Expressway was stolen.

Reported at 12:53 p.m.: A vehicle parked in the 4200 block of Woodfin Drive was entered and property was stolen.

Sugar Mill Road turned out to be a bad place to be parked on March 19 with three vehicles damaged. Reported at 12:43 p.m.: an incident in the 4900 block. Reported at 1:04 p.m.: an incident in the 4700 block where the damage was a gunshot to the door. And not reported until 11:55 a.m. March 21: an incident in the 5000 block.

Reported at 4:41 p.m.: A parked vehicle was struck by another vehicle in the 5900 block of Royal Lane and the driver didn’t stop to leave information.

Arrested at 6:11 p.m.: a 36-year-old woman accused of shoplifting from Nordstrom at NorthPark Center.

20 Wednesday
Arrested at 11:58 p.m.: a 59-year-old man accused of trespassing at Gazeebo Burger at Preston-Royal Southwest. He also had fallen asleep in public, had two outstanding warrants out of Travis County, and failed to identify himself as a fugitive.

Reported at 1:31 p.m.: the possible theft of property from a 75-year-old man near the intersection of Preston Road and Forest Lane.

Reported at 3:27 p.m.: A thief grabbed the cell phone out of a 36-year-old woman’s hand NorthPark Center.

Reported at 6:13 p.m.: A rainbow flag attached to a sign at Northaven United Methodist Church on Preston Road was ripped up.

21 Thursday
Arrested at 11:21 a.m.: a 27-year-old man accused of criminal trespassing and shoplifting at Dillard’s at NorthPark Center.

Reported at 12:13 p.m.: A handgun was brandished in the 5000 block of Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway.

Reported at 2:52 p.m.: A vehicle struck another vehicle at Preston Center and left the scene without the driver stopping to provide information.

Arrested at 8:08 p.m.: a 29-year-old man accused of shoplifting from Rayban and Buckle at NorthPark Center.

22 Friday
Reported at 9:48 a.m.: burglary of a vehicle in the 6000 block of Averill Way.

Reported at 7:13 p.m.: a shoplifter took merchandise from Black Market USA on Lovers Lane.

Reported at 9:17 p.m.: shoplifting at Walgreens at Northwest Highway and Hillcrest Avenue.

23 Saturday
Reported at 10:46 a.m.: A vehicle parked at the 3800 block of Northwest Highway was stolen.

Reported at 2:42 p.m.: The lock on a vehicle parked at NorthPark Center was popped, and property was then stolen from inside. 

Reported at 7:31 p.m.: A window on a vehicle parked at NorthPark Center was broken, and the vehicle was entered and property stolen.

Reported at 11:33 p.m.: A vehicle parked at NorthPark Center was stolen.

24 Sunday
Sometime after midnight: A vehicle parked at the 4500 block of Amherst Avenue was stolen.

Sometime after midnight: A vehicle parked at the 11800 block of Preston Road was stolen.

Sometime after midnight: The back window of a vehicle parked at Street’s Fine Chicken on Forest Lane was broken and property was stolen from inside.

Sometime after midnight, a 28-year-old man was arrested at Inwood Tavern on Inwood Road for public intoxication.

A scary situation was reported at 12:20 a.m. at a home in the 8700 block of Glencrest Lane. A 71-year-old woman had wine thrown at her, was groped, and then had her cell phone taken so she couldn’t call 911.

Reported at 11:26 a.m., a robber brandished a handgun and stole a purse in the 5500 block of Wenonah Drive.

Reported at 3:56 p.m.: A driver left the scene of a wreck in the 4200 block of Bluffview Boulevard without providing information.

Arrested at 4:22 p.m.: a 17-year-old boy accused of shoplifting from Macy’s at NorthPark Center and possession of marijuana.
