Momentous Institute Names Executive Director

Momentous Institute has announced that Jessica Trudeau will take over as its executive director March 1.

Trudeau joined Momentous Institute in May 2015 as director of development and strategic partnerships with extensive experience in executive leadership, development, and public health.

In her current role, she has led efforts to significantly grow and diversify funding to support services for more than 5,500 children and family members, according to a news release.

Trudeau previously served as the executive director of the Dallas-based nonprofit, Family Compass, where she led the organization in its mission to build healthy families and a strong North Texas community by preventing child abuse and neglect.

“I am deeply grateful,” said Trudeau. “All children deserve to have equitable opportunities to achieve their full potential. I am honored to work with the remarkable staff at Momentous Institute and the Salesmanship Club in furthering the mission of building and repairing social emotional health of children and families in our community and across the globe.”

Prior to her position at Family Compass, Trudeau worked at the Injury Prevention Center of Greater Dallas at Parkland Health and Hospital System. She holds a Master of Science in public health from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Science in microbiology from Louisiana State University.

Michelle Kinder

In 2018, Michelle Kinder, Momentous Institute’s executive director of six years, announced she would step down, while supporting a smooth transition.

“I’m confident Jess is the ideal fit to lead the organization into its next chapter. The best is yet to come for Momentous Institute,” Kinder said. “Jess already plays a key role, along with members of the Salesmanship Club, in connecting supporters to our mission and nurturing strategic partnerships. Her style, passion and expertise align perfectly with the bold strategic plan ahead. She’s a walking advertisement for servant leadership and social emotional health.”

Kinder has been at Momentous Institute for a total of 20 years, serving as a licensed therapist, then director of therapeutic services prior to her role as executive director.
