Texas Art Auction to Occur Biannually
David Dike Fine Arts has decided to increase the frequency of their Texas Art Auction to twice a year during the Fall and Spring.
Oct. 27 will mark the inaugural Fall auction in the new series.
The Fall auction will include 340 lots that feature turn of the century to mid-century Texas Art, including a collection of over 85 paintings from the Robert Brousseau Estate.
Brousseau collection includes early Texas paintings from recognizable names: one of the largest Porfirio Salinas bluebonnets ever painted by Joe Arpa, a 1930 Harry Anthony DeYoung, and a mosaic mural depicting the history of money by Dallas artist Octavio Medellin.
Other highlights in the sale are a Florence McClung of downtown Dallas in 1945, a H.O. Kelly farm scene that was once a part of the Fort Worth Art Association Collection, and a painting by Texas modernist Seymour Fogel.
A preview of the auction is available from Oct. 22 to 27 and bidding begins AT 1 p.m. Oct. 27.
