Atelier Sets Up Shop in Snider Plaza

A new Park Cities atelier is putting a refreshing spin on a well-dressed gentleman.

After years in the fashion industry, Kyle Shiels decided to open the doors to his first brick and mortar location, Uncommon Man, a custom clothier located in the bustling neighborhood of Snider Plaza.

Shiels said his original plans to open a boutique didn’t include a Park Cities location, per se, but the community feel of the neighborhood, he said, felt like home.

With a vast collection of swoon-worthy threads, Shiels said he’s looking to bring high-quality handmade looks catered to the lofty market his store surrounds.

“I’m not reinventing the wheel,” he said. “I’m working with small boutique artisanal brands to bring their craftmanship here to Dallas.”

The purveyor of the perfect silhouette for his well-dressed clientele, Shiels has partnered with Neapolitan tailoring houses, Prazio Luciano and Ambrosi, and luxury shirts brand 100 Hands.

Uncommon Man also has an onsite tailor on the second floor of the Hillcrest Avenue boutique.

Located at 6609 Hillcrest Ave., Suite B, prices at Uncommon Man start at $200 for shirts and $999 for suits.

The store is open by appointment only on Mondays, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
