HP Girls Returning to Postseason Play
Highland Park clinched a postseason berth on Tuesday after rallying in the fourth quarter for a key 46-42 road win over Forney.
The Lady Scots (13-16, 7-5) trailed after three stanzas before unleashing an 18-point barrage down the stretch. Mary Warriner Kemp finished with 15 points while Ella Patterson contributed 13.
The victory, which followed a 57-46 loss to Mesquite Poteet on Jan. 26, keeps HP in fourth place in the District 15-5A standings — one game behind the Lady Pirates — with two games remaining.
The Lady Scots will play their final home game on Friday against Royse City before finishing the regular season on Feb. 6 at Wylie East.
Looking ahead, HP will likely face state-ranked Sulphur Springs in the bi-district round of the Class 5A Region II playoffs.
