Highland Park remained in solid contention for a playoff spot following an easy 48-16 road victory over struggling West Mesquite on Tuesday.

Mary Warriner Kemp led a balanced effort for the Lady Scots (12-15, 6-4) with 12 points, while Ashley Turner added 11 and freshman Cate Rhodes contributed eight.

HP bounced back after a 42-39 loss at North Forney in a seesaw game on Jan. 19. Cassidy Yancey paced the Lady Scots with 16 points and Turner poured in 15.

HP will return home to face Mesquite Poteet on Friday. The two teams are tied for third place in the District 15-5A standings with four games remaining.
