HP Boys Win Title in The Colony
After winning the Class 5A state title a year ago, the Highland Park boys have started fast this season, as well. Their latest team victory came at the Cougar Classic on Nov. 11 in The Colony.
Individual event wins came from Ethan Nguyen in the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, and Felix Van Cauwelaert in the 50 freestyle. Other podium finishers included Henry Wang, Peter Paulus, and Max Van Cauwelaert. The Blue Wave also claimed two of three boys relays.
On the girls side, HP finished second in the team standings despite just one individual podium finish, from Bryanna Wilder in the 100 backstroke.
Next up, the Blue Wave will face some of the top programs in the Dallas area in the TISCA North Zone meet beginning Friday in Lewisville.
