Lady Scots Enter District on a Run

The Highland Park girls will head into the District 15-5A meet with some momentum after a strong finish in Hurst.

Highland Park tuned up for the District 15-5A meet with a runner-up finish in the girls team standings at the Birdville Invitational on Saturday in Hurst.

Sophia Oliai paced the Lady Scots by placing sixth individually in a time of 19 minutes, 17 seconds over the 5-kilometer course. Cameron Fawcett was right behind in seventh for the Lady Scots. Also cracking the top 20 were Grace O’Keefe, Maddy Stephens, Jordyn Kaplan, Gracyn Applegate, and Isabel Blaylock.

The district meet is slated for Thursday at Myers Park in McKinney. The top team and individual qualifiers from that race will advance to the Class 5A Region II meet on Oct. 23 in Grand Prairie.
