Late Rally Comes Up Short for Lady Scots

A fourth-quarter rally fell short for Highland Park during a season-opening 51-47 loss to Rockwall-Heath on Monday in the season opener for both teams.

Morgan Smith scored 20 points to pace the Lady Scots (0-1), who trailed 40-28 entering the final quarter. Emma Hill added 10 points for HP, while Heath’s Alexa Hoy led all scorers with 23 points.

The Lady Scots will host Wichita Falls Rider in a nondistrict game on Friday, then will compete in the HP Scot Classic tournament beginning Nov. 17.
