Playoffs on Horizon for Lady Scots
With the regular season winding down, Highland Park will soon turn its attention to the playoffs. But first there’s a matter of seeding.
The Lady Scots, who swept Mesquite Poteet on Oct. 14 and North Forney on Tuesday, almost certainly will finish in a tie with Lovejoy atop the District 15-5A standings. The two teams split during the regular season, meaning they likely will hold a tiebreaker match late next week to determine the top seed. They would technically remain co-champions either way.
Either way, HP will face a team from District 16-5A in the Region II bi-district round on Nov. 1. In the meantime, they will travel to Forney on Friday and wrap up district play on Oct. 25 at home against Wylie East.
