Skulduggery of the Week: Scooterin’ Along

At 11:39 a.m., a thief stole a $5,000 pink 2010 Vespa Piaggo from the 4700 block of Abbott Avenue.

HIGHLAND PARK

29 MONDAY
At 5:36 p.m., a resident of the 4700 block of Bowser Avenue reported a thief entered a condo between 5 p.m. May 13 and 5 p.m. June 3 and stole a college fraternity ring, three pairs of pants valued at $350, a $499 Xbox One, four shirts valued at a total of $500, an $899 Pioneer Elite Receiver a $1,300 college gold ring, and a $3,100 Breitling Superocean Mariner watch. The victim also reported a $599 Denon Receiver and crates with $10,800 in various clothes went missing between March 12 and July 15 from a storage unit on the property.

31 WEDNESDAY
At 8:10 a.m., John Emmanuel Meza, 28, of Dallas, was arrested at Abbott Avenue and Lindenwood Avenue on charges of failure to identify, giving false information, and possession of a controlled substance. Karen Rosario Chavez, 28, of Dallas, was arrested for possession of controlled substances, unlicensed carry of a weapon, and failure to identify.

1 THURSDAY
At 5:01 p.m., Michael Jerome Thompson, 42, of Desoto, was arrested in the 5400 block of Fairfield Avenue on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. 

2 FRIDAY
At noon, Brandon Denard Greer, 25, of Dallas, was arrested in the 4500 block of Abbott Avenue on charges of possession of a controlled substance and burglary of a vehicle.

Between 6 and 7 p.m., a rascal stole a $450 Trek bicycle from a house in the 3800 block of Normandy Avenue.

3 SATURDAY
At 12:22 p.m., a victim reported a scoundrel trespassed in a house under construction in the 3200 block of Princeton Avenue between midnight May 28 and 8 a.m. June 29.

At 9:40 p.m., a victim was bitten by a cat in the 4400 block of Westway Avenue.

4 SUNDAY
At 3:36 a.m., Rene Garcia Mendoza, 21, of Dallas, was arrested in the 4300 block of Southern Avenue on charges of driving while intoxicated and public intoxication. Oscar Everardo Casillas Salazar, 27, of Dallas, was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.

 

UNIVERSITY PARK

29 MONDAY
Between 9:30 and 10:19 a.m., a burglar broke into a white 2015 Kia, a tan 2012 Honda Odyssey, and a tan 2012 GMC Yukon at Germany Park and stole a $30 purse, $40 in cash, $50 in makeup, $50 reading glasses, an $80 Dooney & Bourke backpack, an $80 Brighton wallet, a $100 wallet, and a $700 Tory Burch purse.

At 4:05 p.m., a burglar broke into a black 2012 Jeep at Highland Park High School and stole a Dell laptop, an HP Passport, and $3,000 golf clubs. 

30 TUESDAY
At 4:20 a.m., Courtney Jederrin Chambers, 24, of Dallas, was arrested in the 4400 block of Amherst Street on a charge of burglary of a vehicle and Kai Jamal Webb, 20, of Dallas, was arrested on a charge of criminal trespass.

Between 6 p.m. Aug. 28 and 4:24 p.m. Aug. 30, a thief stole $38,000 from Teacup and Toy Pets Boutique in the 6700 block of Hillcrest Avenue.

1 THURSDAY 
At 10:49 p.m., a black 2015 Jeep Wrangler drove through and broke a security chain in a parking garage in the 6700 block of Westchester Drive.

2 FRIDAY
At 12:50 a.m., Zachary Gerard Esch, 23, of Wylie, was arrested in the 6300 block of Hillcrest Avenue on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

At 7:40 a.m., Kyle Limont, 19, of Marshfield, Massachusetts, was arrested in the 3400 block of McFarlin Boulevard on a charge of public intoxication.

3 SATURDAY 
Between 4 p.m. Sept. 2 and 9 a.m. Sept. 3, a scoundrel stole a $1,600 AR-15 rifle from a black 2015 Chevrolet Silverado in the 3700 block of Caruth Boulevard.

Between 5:30 p.m. Sept. 2 and 9:30 a.m. Sept. 3, a criminal stole $700 from a black 2014 Mercedes G550 in the 3500 block of Caruth Boulevard.

At 7 p.m., an animal was left inside a white 2008 Ford Expedition in the 3100 block of Milton Avenue.

Between midnight Aug. 31 and 7:01 p.m. Aug. 4, a rapscallion stole a $200 necklace, $300 in miscellaneous jewelry, 35 pairs of earrings valued at $600, and a $1,000 necklace from a house in the 7300 bl
