Fashion Show to Promote Positive Image
Local philanthropists and notables will strut their stuff in the Esteem fashion show September 17 to raise money for fighting eating disorder illnesses.
The event will take place at Tootsies located in the Plaza at Preston Center at 10 a.m. Guests can purchase raffle tickets for $10 or six for $50 to win prizes like Elizabeth Showers jewelry and Tootsies gift cards. There will also be a “mimosas and munchies” reception before the show.
Esteem, now in its seventh year, promotes positive body image, healthy lifestyles, and self-esteem. The show will benefit The Elisa Project, an organization founded by the parents of a college student who lost her life to an eating disorder in 1996.
“The event provides an opportunity to appreciate that beauty, health and strength come in all sizes and ages. We hope to spread a message that being generous and loving, can improve inner confidence and respect for oneself,” said Melissa Rountree who is co-hosting the event with her daughter.
WFAA-TV’s Gloria Campos will serve as the emcee for the event. Local notables and celebrities like Emmy award-winning journalist Shelly Slater, Designing Texas host and producer, Jocelyn White, philanthropist Janet Dorsett, wife of Dallas Cowboy Tony Dorsett, and reigning Mrs. Frisco, Dawn Neufeld are just some who will walk the runway showing off fall 2016 trends from Tootsies.
Tickets for the event can be purchased on The Elisa Project site for $75 for VIP seating and $20 for standing and student rates.
