HP junior Falyn Reaugh qualified for the Class 6A state track and field meet in the high jump with a third-place finish at the Region II meet.

Highland Park’s Falyn Reaugh has cleared the bar in her quest for a spot at the UIL state track and field meet.

Reaugh, a junior, will compete in the high jump at the Class 6A meet on May 13 in Austin after finishing third at the Region II meet on Saturday in Waco.

The top two finishers from each region automatically qualify for the state meet. Reaugh earned the wild-card spot as the top third-place jumper among the four regions, with a height of 5 feet, 6 inches. She will compete at state for the first time as HP’s only qualifier.

At the regional meet, Reaugh lost a tiebreaker for the runner-up spot with Jordan Otto of Richardson Pearce. Ellyana Long of The Woodlands took the regional title with a jump of 5-10.
