Skulduggery of the week: Hang Up Your Hat, You’re Drunk

At 6:57 p.m. on April 12, a shoplifter stole a straw hat from Whole Foods in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive, and then proceeded to urinate on the building. The hat was returned, but Frank Ramirez, 55, of Dallas, was arrested on charges of public intoxication and theft.

HIGHLAND PARK

11 MONDAY
Between 4 p.m. on April 8 and 8 a.m. on April 11, a vandal caused $1,000 in damage to playground equipment at Bradfield Elementary.

12 TUESDAY
At 1:40 p.m., the owner of a $3,000 Rolex DateJust reported it lost between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on April 2 at the Dallas Country Club.

15 FRIDAY
At 12:38 p.m., a thief stole a $100 red Diamondback bicycle from a house in the 4700 block of Bowser Court between 6 p.m. on April 7 and 9 a.m. on April 8.

16 SATURDAY
At 8:03 a.m., Sean Dean Carroll, 33, was arrested in the 3400 block of Potomac Avenue on a charge of public intoxication.

 

UNIVERSITY PARK

11 MONDAY
Between 9:15 and 10:24 a.m., a burglar broke into a white 2015 Land Rover Range Rover in the 7700 block of Hillcrest Avenue and stole $12 in miscellaneous property, a $200 Kate Spade purse, and $300 in cash.

Between 1 and 3:30 p.m., a thief stole a spare tire and wheel from a black 2015 Jeep Wrangler in the 6900 block of Douglas Avenue.

12 TUESDAY
At 12:35 p.m., Stephen Mitchell Dieb, 18, of University Park, was arrested in the 4400 block of Emerson Avenue on a charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

15 FRIDAY
Between 7:30 p.m. on April 14 and 7 a.m. on April 15, a thief entered a black 2011 Nissan Frontier in the 3000 block of Purdue Street and stole $5 in cash, a $100 Garmin GPS, $50 in miscellaneous property, $150 Taso Elba jacket, and $200 golf clubs.

At 10:15 a.m., administrators found 3.16 grams of packaged marijuana in a silver 2013 Jeep when a drug dog alerted on the vehicle in the parking garage at Highland Park High School.

At 10:45 a.m., John Edwin Vollmer, 18, of Dallas, was arrested in the 4200 block of Emerson Avenue on a charge of possession of marijuana.

At 4:22 p.m., a burglar broke into a white 2014 Toyota 4Runner in the 2800 block of Fondren Drive and stole a $100 MCM Backpack. A passenger was still inside the vehicle, startling the scoundrel, who fled.

Between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m., a burglar broke into a cream 2015 GMY Yukon XL SUV in the 8300 block of Turtle Creek Boulevard and stole a $200 Michael Kors watch and a $2,730 Louis Vuitton purse

17 SUNDAY
At 2:24 a.m., an armed scoundrel robbed a group of students at gunpoint at SMU in the 2900 block of SMU Boulevard. The robber stole two $25 wallets, and $40 in cash.

At 3:35 a.m., a burglar broke into a business in Snider Plaza and stole $500 in miscellaneous property.

    I am shocked! Shocked do you hear me!? A person would own a hundred dollar bicycle in the Park Cities!

    Is this the same Stephen Dieb who played football for HPHS? If so, am saddened to hear this.
