Seniors Provide Gifts For Homeless
While the typical birthday party means presents for the guest of honor, Edgemere residents decided to turn their monthly birthday celebration into an opportunity to give, rather than receive.
The retirement community has partnered with Texas-based nonprofit, the Birthday Party Project, to help children in North Texas have fantastic birthdays of their own.
At the last monthly birthday party, residents of the community brought toys to be delivered by “birthday enthusiasts” to children in need in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area.
The Birthday Party Project brings joy to homeless children by hosting birthday parties, where children are presented with their own presents, and a special birthday badge.
