Tuohy to Headline Rainbow Days Luncheon
The 19th annual Pot of Gold Luncheon, benefiting the programs, services, and at-risk children of Rainbow Days, Inc., will be Friday, April 15 at the Omni Dallas Hotel at noon. Leigh Anne Tuohy will headline the luncheon as this year’s speaker.
Dubbed a “warrior princess” by Michael Lewis in his New York Times best-selling book, The Blind Side, Leigh Anne is the inspirational matriarch who has dedicated her life to inspiring hope and genuine acts of generosity for all deserving – but underserved – members of our communities.
After opening her heart and home to Michael Oher, a homeless African American teen, Leigh Anne said her life was changed. In her most recent book, Turn Around: Reach Out, Give Back, and Get Moving, she challenges readers to reconsider what it means to give sacrificially, generously, and immediately, often times without ever having to leave your own community.
Leigh Anne is the co-founder of the Making It Happen Foundation, which fights to “improve the standard of living and quality of life for all the children fighting to survive in the invisible cracks of our society.”
Luncheon chair Catherine Rowsey and auction co-chairs Nicole Williams and Jon Langbert anticipate more than 600 attendees thanks to the highly anticipated silent auction, raffle items, and a special performance by nationally recognized children’s performer Eddie Coker accompanied by the children of Rainbow Days.
Underwriting and sponsorships are available starting at the $1,500 level, and individual tickets start at $150. Contact Julia Santosuosso at 214-217-3833, via email at julias@rainbowdays.org, or at rainbowdays.org/pog2016.
