HP AcDec Team Comes Home with the Gold
The 13 members of the HP academic decathlon team returned home from Irving with more than a win. They came with the first academic decathlon state champion trophy in the school’s history.
Competing against the largest schools in the state, HP walked away with more than 52,000 points in the overall tournament — the largest among each division.
The students were judged an interview, an essay, two speeches, and written comprehensive exams in music, art, language/literature, mathematics, economics, and social science. All of this leads up to a Super Quiz Relay.
Congrats to these students for their hard work and intellectual prowess.
