Show Goes on Even When Power Doesn’t
A power outage didn’t stop Winston School students from putting on dinner and a show on Jan. 15.
Theater Arts students, the Winston Men’s Choir Ensemble, and the Winston Jazz Band were prepping to present Comedy Tonight! when the lights went out. Battery powered candles provided mood lighting for the patrons.
“The Jazz Band played on using cell phone flashlights. We were really proud of our students for their valiant efforts to move forward with the performance,” said Karen Parrish, the co-director of the school’s theater program in a statement. “The performance hall filled with applause when the lights came back on just as the opening monologue began! It was certainly a night to remember.”
