Jesuit to Join New District With Coppell
Jesuit will face some fresh athletic challenges next fall, when it joins a new District 9-6A as part of the UIL’s biennial realignment process.
On Monday, the Rangers learned they will share a district with W.T. White, Skyline, Coppell, and four schools from Richardson ISD — Richardson, Berkner, Pearce, and Lake Highlands — beginning next fall.
Jesuit had spent the past two years competing alongside schools from Irving ISD and Dallas ISD, and experienced its most noteworthy success in baseball by reaching the Class 6A state tournament last spring.
In Class 5A, Hillcrest and Thomas Jefferson will each be part of the new District 11 along with fellow DISD rivals Conrad, Kimball, Samuell, South Oak Cliff, and Spruce.
We’ll have a more detailed analysis of each district later, as well as a glimpse into 2016 football schedules for each team.
The new districts will begin competition in fall 2016, and will affect sports including football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, tennis, golf, and track and field. Other UIL sports such as soccer, wrestling, and swimming have separate district alignments that may or may not overlap. Those will be announced later this spring.
