Clyde Honored After Season at Richmond
Former Highland Park standout Andrew Clyde, who just wrapped up his freshman season at the University of Richmond, has been named the defensive rookie of the year on the University Division All-State Team by the Virginia Sports Information Directors.
Clyde, a defensive lineman who redshirted last season, posted 56 tackles, including 8.5 for loss, and led all freshmen in the Colonial Athletic Association with six sacks. He also recovered a fumble for the Spiders, who finished 10-4.
The VaSID team annually honors athletes in 15 sports. The university division comprises all programs from the commonwealth at Division I levels, including FBS schools Virginia and Virginia Tech.
