The locally made film Beyond the Farthest Star will have its world-premiere screening on Thursday at the Angelika Film Center in Mockingbird Station.

The low-budget, faith-based drama focuses on a pastor in a small Texas town forced to choose between becoming a church megastar and dealing with family issues. It inspired a painting by Thomas Kinkade that is being unveiled at the same time as the film.

The screening, which starts at 7:30 p.m., is one of several in cities around the country and will include the filmmakers in attendance for a Q&A afterward. You can find out more information about the film here, and get ticket information here.
