UP Students Learn With Worms
Students at University Park Elementary dug in the dirt with red worms to learn about growing organic food.
Dallas Master Gardener Dr. Annette Beadles visited Debra Moore’s science class with her container of “red wrigglers.”
The student scientists learned that worm castings are a natural fertilizer and that they eat organic materials such as orange peels and egg shells.
Fun fact: eight red worms can produce 1,500 babies within six months.
