Scots to Play Under Thursday Night Lights

Apparently the weather forecast calls for rain on Friday, so Highland Park ISD has moved this week’s varsity football game against Richardson Berkner to 7 p.m. Thursday at Highlander Stadium.

We could insert a snarky comment about how we remember the old days when football used to be played in the rain (including last Friday, by the way, around a couple of lightning delays). But then we’d open ourselves up to comments about how it’s really lightning, not rain, that is the cause for concern. Or how the slippery field can cause a safety issue. Or how inclement weather leads to issues for spectators, band members, and others. And we would kind of agree with those arguments, but we would still say that football should be played in the rain, and then grunt a few times.

At any rate, the game will present the final chance to see the Scots (7-1, 5-0) at home this season, and to recognize the senior class during a pregame ceremony.
