Alcuin School held its inaugural scholarship luncheon at the Hilton Anatole Oct. 14. The event honored Dallas philanthropist Forrest Hoglund for his contributions to academic youth achievement.

Hoglund was the first recipient of Alcuin’s Ann R. Cox Innovation in Education Award. Walter Sorensen, head of school, and Berry Cox, Ann Cox’s son, presented the award.

The award was named for Cox because of her early support of the Alcuin School. The luncheon benefited the Alex Podeszwa Legacy Fund created to help students in need of financial assistance.
