Marisa Tomei to Be Trailblazer Speaker
Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei will be the keynote speaker at the 20th Anniversary Texas Trailblazer Awards luncheon, benefitting The Family Place, on Oct. 1.
Tomei will make a presentation and have a conversation with the luncheon’s moderator.
Named Best Supporting Actress for her role in My Cousin Vinny, Tomei also traveled to Ethiopia to direct a short film about a young girl’s struggle with the institutionalized oppression of women in Ethiopia. The film is based on the book Half the Sky, written by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, who won the Trailblazer award in 2011.
Tomei is also known for her roles in The Wrestler; Crazy, Stupid, Love; and The Lincoln Lawyer.
