Morris Presents Former Boss With Award
New SMU football coach Chad Morris has worked with Dabo Swinney for the past four years, so it’s only fitting that he welcome the Clemson head coach to Dallas with an award.
Morris, who was the offensive coordinator at Clemson before being hired at SMU in December, will present Swinney with the Stallings Award on Tuesday during a ceremony at Dallas Country Club.
The award, in its fourth year, is named after former coach Gene Stallings and was created to honor college football coaches who are also humanitarians and strive to promote healthy and vibrant communities. Swinney is the founder of the All-in-Team Foundation, a multifaceted nonprofit based in South Carolina.
The Stallings Award ceremony has raised more than $1 million in its first four years for The Rise School of Dallas, a nonprofit preschool for children with developmental disabilities.
