Scots Set For Playoff Duel With Knights
After notching its first playoff win at the Class 6A level, Highland Park will continue its postseason march this week against Harker Heights in the Region II area round.
The Scots will host the opener of the best-of-three series at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Scotland Yard. The second game will be at Harker Heights at 7:30 p.m. Friday, with a third game on Saturday at a time and site to be determined.
HP swept Irving MacArthur by scores of 1-0 and 5-1 in its bi-district series last weekend, while Harker Heights eliminated Sachse with final scores of 7-2 and 11-6 in eight innings. The Scots (24-5) have won 13 straight games overall. The Knights (18-10) finished third in District 12-6A during the regular season.
The winner of the series will meet either Jesuit or Rowlett in the regional quarterfinals. We’ll have a more detailed breakdown of the matchup later this week.
