Skulduggery of the week: ‘Sweet Charity’ Leaves Sour Taste
Between 1 and 1:42 p.m. on March 28, a shoplifter stole a “Sweet Charity” handbag, valued at $1,650, from the Christian Louboutin store at Highland Park Village. Someone stole an identical item from the same store on Feb. 8. In the most recent incident, an employee followed and confronted a couple that was in the store at the time, but they didn’t have the pilfered purse.

23 MONDAY
At 3:30 p.m., Brandon Ray Turner, 28, and Scott Thomas Margiotta, 27, both of Coppell, were arrested at Highland Park Village on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
26 THURSDAY
Between 10:30 p.m. on March 25 and 6 a.m. on March 26, a thief stole two custom rear wheels, valued at $1,500 each, from a white 2015 GMC Yukon in the 4500 block of Versailles Avenue.
27 FRIDAY
Between 1 and 3:30 p.m., a thief stole a bag of tools from a construction site in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive. The stolen items included a $500 Hilti nail gun, a $250 PLS laser level, a $200 Makita cordless saw, a $200 Makita cordless drill, a $100 Bush laser level, and $60 worth of drill bits.

23 MONDAY
Between 1:23 and 1:28 p.m., a thief stole $3 in cash from a wallet at Highland Park High School.
Between 6:40 and 7:15 p.m., a burglar broke into a gray 2015 Mercedes sedan at Caruth Park and stole a $1,200 Nikon digital camera, a $600 Canon digital camera, and a $50 bag.
25 WEDNESDAY
Between 10 p.m. on March 24 and 2:40 p.m. on March 25, a burglar broke into a gray 2008 Acura RDX at an apartment complex in the 3100 block of Rosedale Avenue and stole $500 worth of clothing and a $30 auxiliary cord.
26 THURSDAY
Between 9 p.m. on March 25 and 7 a.m. on March 26, a thief stole the tires and rims, valued at $2,000, from a gray 2015 GMC Yukon in the 4400 block of Purdue Street.
At 8:40 p.m., a single-car crash involving a gray 2013 Kia Optima in the 7100 block of Dickens Avenue led to the arrest of Nicole Marie Whitfield, 34, of Dallas, on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
