Prestonwood Reaches National Polo Finals
Although they narrowly missed winning a national title, the youth team at Prestonwood Polo Club still made history earlier this month.
The squad — consisting of Highland Park siblings Vance and Vaughn Miller Jr., along with Ronnie Puente of Little Elm — reached the United States Polo Association finals for the first time, and became one of the youngest teams to do so. Vaughn Miller is a sophomore, while Vance is in eighth grade.
The tournament in suburban Houston featured 38 teams from across North America, with Prestonwood falling to a team from Maryland in the title match. Prestonwood is operated by Vaughn Miller, who also coaches the high school squad and is working to promote youth polo in the area.
