Bushes to Chair Make-A-Wish Gala
Former president George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, will serve as the honorary chairs for the Make-A-Wish Annual Wish Night gala on Saturday, May 16.
The Operation: Wish-themed gala raises funds to grant the hundreds of wishes kids with life-threatening conditions in North Texas receive each year. The event is also presented by Helzberg Diamonds.
“Make-A-Wish North Texas is privileged to have the support of previous wish granters, President and Mrs. George W. Bush, for this year’s annual Wish Night,” said Make-A-Wish North Texas president and CEO Scotty Landry. “Not only is this an incredible honor for our organization, but a once in a lifetime and truly magical experience for our wish kids, as well as their families.”
The annual event has raised more than $12 million and granted 1,675 wishes since its inception in 1997. President and Mrs. Bush have contributed by granting wishes to two children in 2010 and 2011.
