Pre-kindergarten classes at The Lamplighter School celebrated learning about Texas with a chili cook-off on March 26.

Patricia Vermillion, the school’s librarian, was among the judges of administrators and faculty. Vermillion authored a Three Little Pigs-style children’s book told with a Texas twist titled “Texas Chili? Oh My!”. She wrote the book to teach Lamplighter students about Texas’ native scenery, plants, and animals.

Vermillion will also host a Cornbread Cook-Off at East Hampton Sandwich Co. in Fort Worth on April 4.
