UP, YMCA Release Construction Timeline
University Park held a community meeting with YMCA officials on March 19 to release updates on the Moody Family YMCA’s projected timeline. Basically, construction is slated to take place between April 2015 – August 2016 as follows:
- April 6, 2015: Projected mobilization date/fence up
- April 2015 – June 2015: Excavation
- May 2015 – Nov. 2015: Parking garage
- Oct. 2015 – Dec. 2015: Building structure
- Nov. 2015 – May 2016: Interior finish-out
- Jan. 2016 – May 2016: Pool/natatorium
- July 2016 – Aug. 2016: Move-in/occupancy
Construction hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with no construction on Sundays.
There will be lane closures along the bordering streets (Preston Road, Normandy Avenue, Shenandoah Street, and Connerly Drive) at various times throughout the process.
