Shopping to Support Alzheimer’s Awareness

Want an excuse to shop and do good at the same time? Co-owners of O-Venture Janie Cooke and Caroline Nix are donating 20 percent of the sales of their Deep Purple Big O Key Rings to Alzheimer’s non-profit organization AWARE.

“Both of us have dear friends who are battling Alzheimer’s and coping with loved ones fighting the disease,” Cooke and Nix said. “We are honored to be involved in helping get the word out and make a meaningful contribution towards education and more through the AWARE organization.”

The leather bangle-sized key rings are sold at stores all over the country, but the online sales are the ones that count. They come in a rainbow of colors, but look for the Deep Purple ring that will benefit AWARE.

Gail Plummer, president of the AWARE organization, said the popular accessories will have a great impact on Alzheimer’s awareness. “The fact that their clientele can see the donation opportunity on their website truly helps with visibility not only for AWARE, but helps educate the public about Alzheimer’s disease, those it affects and progress being made in research.”

O-Venture will donate from all sales through May 9, so be sure to purchase your key ring soon.

Want another chance to have fun and support a good cause? AWARE is hosting their AWARE Affair Gala on May 9, and tickets and sponsorship opportunities are still available. Purchase a ticket to dance the night away, check out their silent auction, and support Alezheimer’s awareness all at the same time.
