Cambridge Wins TAPPS Basketball Crown
Congratulations to the boys basketball team at Cambridge School of Dallas, which made history on the hardwood on Saturday in Glen Rose. The Lions surged past Christian Academy of San Antonio 52-37 to win its first TAPPS 2A state title.
Calvin Goldsmith scored 23 points to lead Cambridge (26-2), which pulled away after a seesaw first half to win a championship in its first season under coach Armein Kirkland.
The Lions won their first three playoff games by an average margin of 25 points to earn their first state tournament berth. Cambridge knocked off Austin Waldorf 60-52 in the semifinals on Friday.
