Withers Dual-Language Teacher Honored
Congratulations to Irma De La Guardia, a teacher in the dual-language program at Withers Elementary School, who recently was named as the 2015 Teacher of the Year by the National Association of Bilingual Education.
De La Guardia was an auditor in Mexico City before moving to the Dallas area with her husband about 15 years ago. She changed careers and became a certified teacher, then helped to launch the dual-language program at Withers in 2007.
She qualified for the national award after being recognized last fall by the Texas Association of Bilingual Education.
