Police Report: February 16 to February 22

Skulduggery of the week: He’s Got The Beef

At 12:04 p.m. on Feb. 22, a shoplifter stole some packages of hot dogs, ground beef, and pine nuts from Whole Foods Market in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive. When an employee confronted the thief in the parking lot, he fled on foot, and eventually was caught by police outside a 7-Eleven store in the 4400 block of Lemmon Avenue. He refused to give officers consent to search his gold Mercedes sedan in the Whole Foods parking lot, so the car was impounded. The perpetrator — who has a history of theft, assault, and robbery — was released pending future charges.

HIGHLAND PARK

16 MONDAY
At 5:27 p.m., Elisabeth Jean Luquette, 49, of Dallas was arrested in the 4300 block of Lakeside Drive on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

17 TUESDAY
At 9:41 a.m., Brian L. Gilliam, 35, of Taylor was arrested atHighland Park Village on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

19 THURSDAY
At 6 a.m., Clara Montanez Perez, 19, of Corinth was arrested in the 4300 block of Edmondson Avenue on a charge of theft of a firearm.

Between 9:10 p.m. on Feb. 18 and 10:07 a.m. on Feb. 19, a thief entered an unlocked black 2014 Audi sedan in an alley in the 4000 block of Miramar Avenue and stole a $900 iPad with keyboard case, a $800 pair of Tom Ford sunglasses, and a couple of personal documents.

21 SATURDAY
Between 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 and 11 a.m. on Feb. 21, a thief entered an unlocked white 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 3200 block of St. Johns Drive and stole about 50 DVDs in a canvas case, an entry key for a U-Haul storage facility, $5 in change, and a box of assorted papers. In the same block during the same timeframe, someone rummaged through an unlocked black 2013 Mercedes E350, but didn’t steal anything.

22 SUNDAY
At 8:30 a.m., Phillip Gerald Nigh, 27, of Richardson was arrested in the 5500 block of Roland Avenue on a marijuana possession charge.

UNIVERSITY PARK

18 WEDNESDAY
At 3:01 a.m., a resident of the 3000 block of Amherst Streetreported the theft of the front license plate from a gray 2011 Mercedes E350.

Between 7 p.m. on Feb. 17 and 7 a.m. on Feb. 18, a burglar broke into a blue 2009 Lexus SUV in the 3600 block of Northwest Parkway and stole a $3,000 Louis Vuitton handbag, a $1,000 Louis Vuitton wallet, a $700 iPad Mini, a $500 pair of Chanel sunglasses, two Nordstrom gift cards valued at $200, and a $100 iPad Mini case.

Between 12:30 and 12:45 p.m., a thief stole two MacBook Pro laptop computers, valued at $4,000, from a business in the 2700 block of Fondren Drive. Tommy Dwayne Cook, 26, of Dallas was arrested on a theft charge.

21 SATURDAY
At 1:19 a.m., Dean John Mellas, 18, of University Park was arrested in the 2700 block of Daniel Avenue on a public intoxication charge.

Between 10 and 10:43 a.m., a burglar broke into a white 2001 Ford F-250 pickup in the 6400 block of North Central Expresswayand stole a $350 Beretta 40-caliber handgun, along with $60 worth of cosmetics and a $50 purse.

At 10:47 p.m., a traffic stop involving a black 2015 GMC Yukon in the 4100 block of Amherst Street led to a 17-year-old Highland Park High School student being cited for driving under the influence of alcohol by a minor.

22 SUNDAY
At 1:58 p.m., an officer stopped a silver 2015 Audi in the 6400 block of Park Street and found some crystal meth and several insulin syringes inside. Tyler Conner, 24, of Midlothian was arrested on a drug possession charge in addition to some traffic violations and warrants.
