Boyer Splashes to Bronze at 6A State Meet
Highland Park senior Kate Boyer wrapped up her high school swimming career on Saturday with a bronze medal in the girls 50-yard freestyle at the Class 6A state meet in Austin.
Boyer, who has signed with the University of North Carolina, recorded a time of 23.30 seconds, more than a half-second behind champion Alexandra Lupton of Kingwood. Boyer won the Class 4A titles in both the 50 free and 100 free in Class 4A last year.
On the boys side, the Blue Wave placed seventh in the 400 freestyle relay with the quartet of Nick Moore, Jasper VanCauwelaert, Mason Kelly, and Felix VanCauwelaert.
