Heart of Dallas NCL Chapter Collects “Tools for Troops”

Thanks to the Heart of Dallas chapter of National Charity League, military members and their families at Fort Hood are no longer in need of tools.

The chapter’s senior class ran a “Tools for Troops” drive after speaking with Fort Hood’s community liaison, and collected over $1600 worth of equipment.

“We felt it was such a worthy cause to help out our military spouses and their families while their loved ones were away serving our country,” said senior class member Samantha Toomey. “Collecting and donating tools was one small way we could contribute to these families.”

The girls and their mothers assembled tool kits in January and then presented them to the families at Fort Hood.

“Tools for Troops” ties into NCL’s nationwide effort Operation Homefront to support service members.
