Skulduggery of the week: Pepperoni and Handcuffs

At 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 6, a pizza-delivery man got into a heated exchange with a security guard at the student entrance at Highland Park High School after being told that he couldn’t leave the pizza at the front desk due to school policy. When asked to wait while the source of the delivery request was located, the driver became agitated, and began yelling and cursing as a school resource officer instructed him to leave the campus. Instead, he pushed the officer as he was being escorted out of the building. Jacob Long, 19, of Dallas, was arrested on charges of assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, and criminal trespass. His delivery vehicle, a tan 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, was towed. It’s unknown what happened to the pizza.

HIGHLAND PARK

3 TUESDAY
At 2:46 a.m., Jeremy Neubauer, 31, was arrested in the 4000 block of Beverly Drive on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Between 10 p.m. on Feb. 2 and 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 3, a thief stole a gray 2002 Lexus sedan, valued at $8,500, from a driveway in the3400 block of Mockingbird Lane.

4 WEDNESDAY
At 2 p.m., Renne Ava Shreibman, 54, of Dallas was arrested atHighland Park Village on drug possession charge.

6 FRIDAY
At 2:52 a.m., Paige Nicole Riddle, 23, of Mansfield was arrested in the 3100 block of St. Johns Drive on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

7 SATURDAY
At 11:24 a.m., a resident of the 4400 block of Westway Avenuereported the theft of a jewelry box containing a $7,000 diamond ring, a $1,200 pair of diamond earrings, and an $80 pair of gold earrings from a bathroom sometime between Jan. 6 and Jan. 19.

At 10:20 p.m., Mary Vanderkroon, 52, of Dallas was arrested in the3800 block of Armstrong Avenue on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

8 SUNDAY
At 10 a.m., an employee of the Christian Louboutin store atHighland Park Village reported that a shoplifter stole a $1,650 Sweet Charity purse the previous day.

At 10:45 p.m., the driver of a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander fled on foot after a head-on collision with a rented 2013 Hyundai Elantra in the4600 block of Mockingbird Lane. There were no injuries, and both cars were towed away. Officers couldn’t find the perpetrator.

UNIVERSITY PARK

6 FRIDAY
At 9:40 a.m., a burglar broke into a gray 2014 Buick Enclave at St. Christopher Episcopal Church and stole a $1,300 Louis Vuitton purse, a $500 iPhone, and a $400 Tory Burch wallet containing $25 in cash.

Between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m., a thief stole $3,780 worth of landscaping tools from the back of a 2004 Ford pickup in the 4200 block of Lovers Lane.

8 SUNDAY
Between Jan. 7 and Feb. 8, a thief stole $5,200 worth of real-estate signs from eight different properties in the 3800 block of University Boulevard.
