HPMS Students Need You to Walk Your Dog
Sometimes, great things can happen when kids let their imaginations run wild. For example, seven fifth-graders at Highland Park Middle School have organized a 5-kilometer dog-walking event on Jan. 24 at Curtis Park to help raise funds and awareness for prevention of animal cruelty.
The Tailwaggers Tour event begins at 10 a.m. and will benefit Paws in the City. It will include raffles and food trucks, as well as various prizes. The students proposed the idea as the community outreach project for their Destination Imagination team.
Cost is $10 per dog. Visit here for registration information.
(UPDATE: Due to a forecast for inclement weather, the event has been moved from Jan. 10 to Jan. 24. We’ve made the change to the copy above.)
